Customers build their own tent, and the request is ready instantly
Alpha Tent Event rents out tents for weddings and events. Anyone who wanted a quote first had to call or email, after which the request was worked out by hand and entered into the rental system. We built an online configurator where the customer picks their own tent, watches it rise live in 3D and submits a request in a few steps that then sits ready in their own system.

The challenge
Requesting a quote for a tent went by phone or email. The customer could not see for themselves which tents are available, what a setup roughly costs, or everything that comes with it, such as flooring, walls, heating and transport to the location. Every request then had to be worked out by hand and copied into the rental system. That costs time and holds up the quote.
Our approach
We built an online configurator: a short, step-by-step wizard that guides the customer through the choices, from tent type and size to the options, the location and their details. As the customer chooses, the selected tent rises live in 3D on the site and a price indication appears straight away, including an estimate of the transport cost based on the distance. At the end the customer submits the request. It then sits ready automatically in the rental system, with a confirmation to the customer and a heads-up to Alpha Tent Event.

The result
Customers can now build a tent themselves, at any moment, and submit a request in a few steps, with a picture of the tent and a price indication included. That request sits ready neatly in the rental system, so Alpha Tent Event turns it into a quote without retyping everything first.
